Let’s Make It A Rocktober

Our beautiful state is filled with miraculous wonders. We have amazing deserts, lakes, mountains, waterfalls, and many canyons right here in our own backyard.

Everyone has heard of the Grand Canyon, one of the top attractions here in Arizona, but there are many more. Sedona's stunning red rock formations seem to hold a special kind of healing and spiritual closeness for many who visit.

Glen Canyon is home to Lake Powell, with its deep blue waters making it one of the largest and most beautiful manmade lakes in the United States. It's a hotspot for a variety of activities, offering endless exploration opportunities.

The Hoover Dam, linking Arizona to Nevada, is another popular tourist destination. It's one of those must-see places you can visit on your way to trying your luck for the “Big Jackpot” in Vegas.

We also have an incredible array of Native American cliff dwellings. Canyon de Chelly National Monument is home to some of the most notable sites, including White House Ruins, Antelope House, and Mummy Caves. These ruins, occupied from around 350 AD to 1300, offer free ranger-led hikes that make for a fun and educational day.

On my bucket list is Horseshoe Bend. Though it's a bit of a drive, it attracts over two million visitors annually. Remember to wear comfortable hiking shoes, as it's a 1.5-mile walk along a rocky path to reach the overlook. The breathtaking beauty of the view makes it a photographer's dream.

For those looking for something a bit closer, Prescott is the place to go. Just about 90 miles away, it offers a lot of tourist attractions and historic sites to explore.

"Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!” (Psalm 122:7) This verse reflects the serenity and safety we often seek in our travels and explorations, whether in our beautiful state or beyond.

I've only touched on a few of the incredible destinations we have here in Arizona. I encourage everyone to find their own favorite spot and revel in the natural beauty around us. Let's make this a “Rocktober” to remember, celebrating the jackpot we hit with all the stunning sights right here in AZ!
