"Mommy, who is God?" I hear you say,
"God is the one who shows us the way.
He holds the whole world in his gentle hands,
And listens to us, for He understands.
God knows each hair upon your head,
He watches over you as you lie in bed.
He made the moon, the stars, the sky,
The wonders we see when we look up high.
God created this earth, so big and free,
A beautiful place for you and me.
He gave us family—sisters and brothers,
And filled our hearts to love one another.
He made the animals, the trees, the seas,
The flowers, the mountains, the soft summer breeze.
And God sent Jesus, His only Son,
To guide us in love until life is done.
Through Jesus, our sins are washed away,
So we can thank God every day.
God made this life, so we’d give thanks and share,
His love surrounds us everywhere.
And when our journey on earth is through,
God’s heaven above waits for me and you."
